GizaPlateau.com exists to answer one question well: how do you actually visit the Pyramids of Giza now? The plateau has changed more since 2025 than in the previous half-century, and much of what is written about it online describes a site that no longer exists.
What we cover
Everything on and around the plateau: the three great pyramids and what is inside them, the Sphinx and its temples, the lesser-known tombs, the new entrance and electric buses, tickets, camel rides and how to deal with touts — plus the Grand Egyptian Museum next door and the older pyramid fields of Saqqara, Dahshur and Memphis.
How we work
- Accuracy over confidence. Prices, opening hours and access rules in Egypt change often and without much notice. Where we are not certain, we say “around” or “check before you go” rather than invent a figure.
- Real products only. Every tour and ticket we list is a live product on GetYourGuide, checked against its catalogue. We never invent or pad listings.
- Honest notes. If something is overpriced, uncomfortable or disappointing, we say so.
- Freely licensed photography. All images are from Wikimedia Commons and credited on our image credits page.
How the site is funded
The site is free to read and carries no display advertising. It is supported by affiliate commissions: if you book a tour through one of our GetYourGuide links, or a hotel through Trip.com, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which experiences we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure.
We are not the official site
GizaPlateau.com is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the operator of the Giza Plateau visitor services or the Grand Egyptian Museum. For official tickets and announcements, use their own channels.
